Overseeding has become an important operation on playing fields where dormant grass growth during the winter could lead to serious damage to oval surfaces during the football season. The oversewing using winter seed varieties during late summer and early autumn, provides a turf cover that enhances and gives added protection during the severity of winter
The same approach is reversed at the end of the winter season, when summer crop can be oversewn at the end of the football season.
This approach is also quite successful on tired and well worn playing fields.
